Alyssa Shih

Hometown: Chicago, IL

I am an Atmospheric Sciences major in the Class of 2026 minoring in Philosophy. I am a proud Southsider, coming from Armour Square, Chicago, IL, and am passionate about research, currently conducting undergraduate research on large storms called mesoscale convective systems. Outside of class, you can find me across campus on assignment taking photos for the Daily Illini, holding events with the Illinois Student Organization of Meteorology, dancing Chinese dance, playing violin, doing calligraphy, reminiscing about playing the Altgeld Chimes, or studying in the best building on campus (the Natural History Building).
