Get Involved with SSC

SSC is comprised of student, staff, and faculty members.

Student Involvement

There are two ways for students to be involved.

  1. Board Members

10-18 student board members are appointed through an application process managed by SSC and supervised by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at the end of each spring semester. These student board members take on various leadership roles within the committee in addition to casting votes toward funding decisions regarding student-initiated fees collected via the Cleaner Energy Technologies Fee and the Sustainable Campus Environment Fee.

  2. Student Witness Slips

While we no longer have a General Member program, our Working Group and Voting Meetings are open to the public. Additionally, we encourage student feedback on proposed projects through Witness Slips during our Working Group meetings. Reach out to our SSC Vice Chair at SSC-ViceChairInternal (a) illinois.edu for more information.
