About Me
Rachel joined the Student Engagement team as a Coordinator in 2023. Rachel earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Roosevelt University in Chicago, and her Master’s in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. While pursuing her master’s, Rachel worked for the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee Office of Student Engagement, where she focused on student organizations, leadership development, community and civic opportunities, and served as a team advisor for the Student Government and Campus Activities Board.
Her passions include leadership and community development and creating service learning. Outside of Student Engagement, Rachel enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to Chicago Blackhawks games, and finding new restaurants.

Role & Responsibilities
Role
Rachel is an advisor to the Illinois Student Council (ISC). In addition to advising the council, she manages specific administrative components and coordinates corresponding programs.
Responsibilities
Illinois Student Council
- Advisement of:
- Executive Administrative Officers
- Legislative Officers
- Student Representatives
- Committee on Academic Affairs
- Committee on Operations
- Committee on Student Experience
- Advise Illinois Student Council in developing, implementing, promoting, and evaluating programs and advocacy that benefit the student body.
- Assist with promoting the organization so that students can recruit members for a valuable and holistic experience.
- Serve as an advocate and liaison between ISC, Student Engagement, and Student Affairs to the University administration, University Senate, and other various University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and University of Illinois System departments.
- Coordinates personal and professional development programs leading to individual and group development for students involved in ISC.
- Coordinates ISC (and past student government) Alumni Relations Coordination.
Student Org Development & Admin
- Assist with review of Annual Registrations
- Facilitate Orientations & Workshops
Spirit & Traditions
- Assists with Illinois spirit and tradition programs and initiatives.
